Mary E Parsons

Virginia Beach- Mary E. Parsons, 91, died peacefully in her home on August 24, 2011. She was born on August 3, 1920 in, Princess Anne County, Virginia to the late Osie and Ida F. Reid. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Aaron A. Parsons and eleven sisters and brothers.

Mrs. Parsons was a member of St. Mark AME Church and was the first female Trustee Board Member. She was a member of the Daughters of St. Mark, Senior Usher Board and was involved in numerous church activities. Mary was also a member of the Evening Light Chapter 48, Order of The Eastern Star PHA.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family; nephew, Hugh Reid, Jr., and niece, Alfreda Gordon as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Godchildren, Rev. Dr. Eugenia Bowser, Terry Woodhouse and Diana Estes; and sister in law, Sarah Russell.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.

A Celebration of Life will be held on; Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Mark AME Church, 1740 Potters Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23454, with a 1 hour viewing prior. Burial will follow immediately at Reid Family Cemetery.
