Matthew was the light and charisma of any room he walked into. He valued spending time with his family and was well loved by his many friends. Matthew grew up playing travel soccer and loved watching football and live music, as well as having beach days, and camping. Matthew had a very successful and longstanding career in the automobile business with Maguire & Sons Auto Brokers, where Tim Maguire was like a second father, mentor and close friend to him. His passing is truly a sad loss for the many loved ones who were touched by his humor, his smile, and love.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda E. Harrell; his step son, Sam; his parents Joseph C. Harrell and Karen Ciccone; his brothers Tyler Harrell and Chris “Skip” Gorman.
There will be a service held to honor Matthew’s life at 11am on Saturday, September 26th. It will be held at his home church, One City Church, 515 Innovation Drive, Chesapeake, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please consider making a donation to Matthew’s church. His memory will be held with respect and care for the many who had the privilege to know him.
