Mattie Allen Smith

Mattie Allen Smith 1930 – 2021 Mattie Allen Smith, 90, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in McCullers, North Carolina on October 31, 1930, she was the daughter of Jesse Allen and Delia Slater. Mattie is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Brookshire (husband James), and Barbara Lovejoy (husband Michael), her sister, Euna Siegel, her five grand children, Wayne Smith (wife Danielle), Casey Smith, Colby Brookshire, James Evans, Ashley Evans, and her great granddaughter, Sophia. The family is eternally grateful to all the amazing caregivers, nurses, and staff at the Villages of Rosemont and Kindred Hospice – Virginia Beach. Your kindness and compassion for Mattie during her time of need was a true blessing. The family will be holding a private graveside service at Rosewood Memorial Park in loving honor and memory of Mattie.
