Norfolk - Melba Lee York, 80, passed away Jun 29, 2015. She was born in South Boston, VA on July 17, 1934 to the late Jeffrey and Rosa Haley. Melba was a graduate of Hicks Beauty Academy in Norfolk and practiced as a beautician for more than 50 years. She was a member of True Vine Baptist Church and the American Legion.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Arthur P. York; sisters, Nancy Haley Crews, Margaret Haley Harris, Estelle Haley Miller and her husband Pete; and Shirley Haley Lee; brother, Bill Haley and his wife Gayle; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Haley. She is preceded in death by her brothers,
Hugh M. Haley and Danny K. Haley; and sister, Frances Haley.
