Mike was born July 3, 1945 in Dayton Ohio, the only child of Raymond B. List and Margarett (Allen) List. He graduated primary and secondary school in Dayton before attending the University of Dayton.
Mike enlisted in the United States Naval Active Reserves in 1966 and was stationed in Virginia. Following his military service, Mike began his career with Ohio Bell as a repairman and installer. He soon transferred to C & P Telephone Company in Virginia where he met his wife and had two sons. Mike retired from Verizon with over 30 years of service.
Mike was extremely passionate about music and being a musician. He could play just about any type of guitar but he enjoyed strumming the old six string the most. Mike was a part of the Tidewater music scene for over four decades.
Michael is survived by his wife Mary M. List; sons Marty (Mary Beth) of Virginia Beach, VA. and Jimmy List of Virginia Beach, VA. Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be private.
