

Mrs. Noel was born in Ayden, North Carolina and at the age of 16 moved to Norfolk to attend Norfolk Business College where she met her husband of 63 years, Jesse C. Noel. In 1949 they moved to Virginia Beach where they raised their family of seven children. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse C. Noel, a daughter, Susan Hysong, and a grandson, Jacob Noel. Survivors include six children, Sheron Harrell, (Henry), Barbara McDonald, (James), Dr. Thomas Noel, (Adrienne), Rebecca Kelly, Jeanne Sheeley, (David), Roger, (Melissa), fifteen grandchildren, Henry T. Harrell, II, Maranatha J. Feldmann, Jennifer L. Winstead, Erin Stewart, Amanda McDonald, Tavia Maher, Jessi Noel, Jessica Hysong, Ryan Hysong, Eric Hysong, John Kelly, Christian Kelly, Sarah Sheeley Joshua Noel and Emily Noel; nine great grandchildren, Joanna Portillo, Charlotte Harrell, Carson Harrell, Samuel Pennington, Rachel Feldmann, McKenzie Feldmann, Jenna Feldmann, Ethan Winstead and Austin Winstead and one great, great granddaughter, Anna Joelle Portillo. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church for the last twelve years of her life.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 1 pm to 2 pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home where a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park and a reception will follow the graveside service in the funeral home.
The family would like to express our gratitude to Mrs. Angela Springer for her much appreciated devotion to our mother during her final months of life.
