Mildred Sherrill Taylor, 79, a longtime resident of Virginia Beach, passed away after a short illness July 12, 2011 in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. The widow of retired U.S. Navy Billie Ray Taylor, she is survived by her son, Kenneth R. Taylor of Triangle, Va.; daughter, Sharon Taylor DeSantis and husband David of Skaneateles, N.Y.; four loving grandchildren, Crystal, Angela, Dana, Patrick and one great-granddaughter Chloe; brother, Tony Sherrill and his wife Sheila; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. At her request, she will be cremated with no services. Donations may be made to the Davis Corner Rescue Squad, Virginia Beach.
