At age ten, she first met her future husband, Henry, in Washington Heights, but their paths went separate ways until fate reunited them years later on a blind date. That chance meeting blossomed into 62 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
As a Navy wife, Maddy embraced life’s journeys, living in Spain, Australia, and many places in between. Her beautiful blue eyes held warmth and mischief, her laugh was joyful, and her generous spirit touched everyone she met.
A devoted mother to three daughters, grandmother to six, and great-grandmother to one, Maddy loved traveling, gardening, cooking her famous arroz con gandules, pernil, egg rolls, dancing, and spending peaceful moments by the ocean. Guided by her Catholic faith, she cherished traditions and shared her blessings freely.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Henry; daughters Lisette (Richard) and Vanessa (Les); son-in-law Paul (Carol); 6 grandchildren Erica (Mike), Richard III (Brooke), Chloe (Christian), Sam, Nicholas, and Sydney; great-grandson Carter; loving nieces Marissa, Sharon, Carol; and nephews Carl, Tommy, Steve and friends. She is reunited in heaven with her cherished daughter Cheryl, parents Roberto and Rosita, and siblings Eniel, Hector, Lillian, Lorraine, Elba, and Myrna.
Her love will live on forever in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
