Nettie Elizabeth Rowe

Nettie was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life. She began her career as a Mailroom Clerk with The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), where she served diligently for 16 years. Following her time at CBN, she took on the role of Manager at Jernigan Cleaners & Laundry, where she also worked for 16 years, demonstrating her commitment and leadership. Beyond her professional life, Nettie found joy in simple pleasures. She loved shopping and took great pride in tending to her garden. Her culinary skills were well-known among family and friends, as she often prepared Sunday dinners that included breakfast, lunch, and dinner, bringing warmth and comfort to those around her.

Nettie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Maggie Brown; her husband of 23 years, William Rowe; her significant other of 19 years, Nick Vaughn; and her sisters, Betty Waterfield, Peggy Dunlow, Jenny Chavis, and Delia "Dinky" Newsome. She is survived by her devoted son, Tony Rowe, and his wife, Christina Starks; her brother, William Brown Jr.; her sisters, Jessie Damond and Linda Vaughn, along with her husband Kenny; and her cherished granddaughter, Destiny Rowe. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and countless dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

A public visitation for Nettie will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, followed by a funeral service on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the same location. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.

Nettie will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and work, her love for gardening and cooking, and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
