

Mrs. Dixon was born and raised in Greenville, N.C. and resided in Norfolk since 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents John Reel and Mamie James Reel, a son Douglas Roland and six brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Dixon was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church since 1966 where she sang in the choir and attended the Spares and Pairs Sunday School Class. She served in leadership of River Forest Shores Civic League for many years.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years Roland Dixon, a son Richard Dixon, a daughter Roseanne Dean, (Kenneth), four grandchildren April Rose West, (Nathan), Amy Hague, (Rich), William Douglas West and K.W. Dean, (Samantha), three great grandchildren Austin Hague, Charlotte Nicole West and Madelyn Pepper Dean and close friends David Shipley and Aunt Delphia.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2013, 5 to 7 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
A celebration of Mrs. Dixon’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, 11 a.m. at Riverside Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
