Peggy Marie Sechrist, 87, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023. She was born in Clinton, NC to the late Frederick and Catherine Worthington. For many years, Peggy worked for C&P Telephone Company and later she was a bus driver for Chesapeake City Schools. In between and after her jobs, Peggy was a homemaker; taking good care of her family and home. She was a member of Unity Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Peggy loved the Lord, family and her friends; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 29 years, William "Bill" C. Sechrist; son William Teddy Sechrist; brother Gene Worthington; sister, Louise Dennis; and 2 nephews, Glenn Dennis and Jimmy Worthington.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Penny Lincoln (Don) of Currituck, NC and Sheila Burr (George) of Dunn, NC; 4 grandchildren, William Patrick Burr, Adelina Sizemore, Tyler Normand, and Spencer Normand; 3 great grandchildren, Carter Sizemore, Sophia Sizemore, and Madison Burr; and 3 nephews, Mike Dennis, Greg Dennis and Michael Worthington.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm, on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm.
