She was born in Danville, Virginia and retired from COMNAVSURFLANT after thirty years of civil service.
She is preceded in death by her mother Ruby Travis and father Vernon Travis, good friend Donald Johnson and great-granddaughter Anjelica Hadsell.
She is survived by son Jeffrey Busby and his wife Kathleen, daughter Sheryl Wright, son Paul Busby and his wife Katherine; brother Roger Travis and his wife Rosa; granddaughters Jennifer Busby, Kaitlan Busby and Chandler Busby; grandson Kevin Zirkle and his wife Maribel; great-granddaughters Chelsey Zirkle, Justice Hoffer, Gracie Hoffer, Abigail Hadsell and great-grandson Adam Zirkle.
Burial will be private.
