Played many sports with Randy in my youth while growing up in the Baycliff area in the 70's. Always a happy smile and laugh as my parents would ride us around to different events. Took him to see Dr J back in the day. Always think of him as I travel by Hawian Drive near my home.  Was a real spirited friend and will be missed.

My condolences to the Goffigan family, so sorry for your loss.  Randy and I met freshman year at Delaware State College in 1977.  Randy was a wonderful person.  He played football for DelState and would play tennis with me after practice and on weekends.  He was a gentleman.  We both were tennis players and lived near the beach.  Rest in Peace.Vanessa J. Randy and I were in several classes in High School. He was always so nice to me. I haven't seen him since the late seventies but have very fond memories of Randy. Thoughts and Prayers go out to his family.

Goffigian Family. I met Randy when we played Great Neck league Basketball for 10-12 year olds. We became good friends all the way through high school. Randy and I were on same football team and had many class together.Lets just say i new him, well. Randy was one of the good ones, THAT SMILE, THAT FRIENDLY WHISPER OF HIS VOICE. That shy little boy smile, not a hateful bone in his body. Randy looked out for me when we played on the 10 year old basketball team. I was short and fat he was Randy. Anytime a player form another team picked on me Randy would in that nice guy voice of his say leave my little brother alone. Randy was a blessing to everyone touched. Thank you Mrs G for teaching him right Your work is done, God has him now.Randy is now doing Foundation work for GOD. Mrs G and family you are in my thoughts and prayers

I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing and playing football with Randy in High School. Randy was easily the best receiver in Va. Beach his junior year and could have been a very highly recruited player, had he not taken over the reigns as quarterback his senior year. He did that begrudgingly, and only because coach Al Habit asked him to do it for the good of the team. Our senior year, we won the Beach District title and Randy was easily one of the best athletes on the field every Friday night. The first time we met on the practice field, I told him that I was a receiver. He said, "So can you catch?" My cocky reply was "Can fish swim?" Each time we took the field we had this little joke where he would ask me: "The fish swimming tonight?" and I would reply, "The fish are swimming!" and we would go out and play.
Randy was a great teammate and a friend. Though he was fierce competitor, I will always remember him with a huge toothy grin. He always had something nice to say and always had that smile on his face. We did not see much of each other after high school, but I followed his progress and was always a huge fan.
The Goffigan family was always a wonderful, highly respected family in the Va. Beach community. My condolences to and best wishes to everyone in the family. I will always remember Randy as a great person and an amazing teammate. Rest in peace brother, may the fish always be swimming wherever your next life takes you.

One of my best pals.  We had great times together fishing, crabbing and canoing.  I'll always remember him. I am so sorry for the loss to his family and to everyone who knew him.
