Rebecca Sell Hardison

Rebecca Sell Hardison, 92, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. She was born in Lumberton, North Carolina to the late Lucille Sell and Marion M Sell. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jasper B. Hardison who began a little league career in 1959 as a Little League Manager. He worked his way to the District Administrator, which he held for many years. Jake was the chairman of the “Welcome Committee” at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. In 1983 after 40 years, he retired as Chief of Police of Naval Station Norfolk. Jake also held the title of Chairman of the Challenger Jamboree held in Norfolk, VA every year. He was a member of VFW Post #4809, the Police Assn. of VA, FOP #28 Swells Pt. Lodge., and Haygood United Methodist Church. She is also preceded in death by her son, Mickey Hardison and daughters, Stephanie Hardison and Patricia Hardison; and step son, Kenny Hardison.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, David Jackson; special grandson, Johnny Payne and wife Amanda; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and daughter in laws, Rita Hardison and Nancy Hardison.

A celebration of life for Rebecca will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
