Richard Clinton Cuthriell, 78, of Va Beach, VA went to be with his Heavenly Father and those awaiting him on Oct 26, 2024. He was born in New York(the Bronx) on Aug 27, 1946 to Alonzo and Frances Wauhop Cuthriell.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Bonnie Butler Cuthriell. They met when Rick returned from Vietnam and was discharged from the Army after proudly serving his country. They were married at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church and continued to be members there.
Rick was employed by the US Postal Service for 33 years and also served as President of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Beach Postal Federal Credit Union for several years. He worked many part time jobs and a favorite was selling Harley Davidsons. He was an active person and enjoyed many hobbies including scuba diving, metal detecting, riding his Harley, ping pong, and pickleball to name a few. He also enjoyed being an auxiliary policeman and a volunteer fireman during his life. He received an Associate Degree in Police Science in 1979 and was a lifetime member of several organizations including Harley Owners Group ,Red Knights, DAV, American Legion, and National Association of Letter Carriers.
Preceding Rick in death were his parents Alonzo and Frances Cuthriell, his grandson Brody Cuthriell and his niece Lacey Perkins.
Besides his wife, Rick is survived by his son, Brett Cuthriell(Megan); his daughter Jaimee Rakowski(Seth); grandsons, Jase Rakowski, Milo and Owen Cuthriell; granddaughter, Ruby Ann Cuthriell; sister, Susan Perkins; many nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law, Al Butler(Joy).
A visitation for Richard will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life will at 2:00 PM, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
