Richard was an amazing man.. I had the opportunity to be blessed with his knowledge and beautiful character.. he believed in those he worked with and always shared his dedication in all he did and whom he came across.. he wrote me a recommendation letter and I will never forget working with him.  God speed my friend and may your family be wrapped in Gods arms celebrating your life and comforted in your loss...!heaven gained a warrior!

Rich always went the extra mile. He did everything he could to achieve what you needed. He will be very missed by his fellow teammates in estimating. 

I had the opportunity to work with Rich on many projects that required specialty products. Rich was always very eager to help and provide the most in-depth information. If I had to give one word to describe him, it would be integrity. Rich was as honest and hard working a man as you could ever meet. I will miss working with him. RIP Rich!

One of the kindest people I've met in the sign industry. I'd known Richard for almost 20 years and he always great to talk to. 4 years ago when I was in between jobs he was  first one to reach out when he heard the news.  Richard had words of encouragement I'd never forget. He said he'd been in this position before stating.. "change is good and good things happen to good people". I never forgot that Richard. Loved life....loved his family. Rest in peace my friend. Your in our prayers.

I worked with Rich for quite a few years, but we were also friends.  
In a world that says "Me first." 
Rich said "You go first."
In a world that says "What can you do for me?" 
Rich said "What can I do for you?"
In a world that said "Life sucks, everything is broken." 
Rich said "It is a wonderful life, let's do what we can to make it better."

In short Rich was a kindhearted, thoughtful gentlemen among us.  He was thoughtful as embodied by being concerned for the welfare and happiness of others, but thoughtful in a reflective and insightful way about the things that puzzle us in life. He saw problems, he wasn't an unresolved optimist, but he always knew with enough effort and enough consideration of it,  a solution at hand. He was my friend and I admired the old world quality about him which was a reminder of a kinder and gentler time in our history.  
Richard Sumption will be missed;
his contribution to our world is not without its' ripples in the membrane that floats on the surface of imperceptible significance that yet binds us together.  
Steady on my friend; steady on.

Dear Victoria and Family,
I am so sorry. I'm sending love and condolences from California to you.  If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I remember Richard being such a kind, respectful and pleasant man.  I had the pleasure to work with him for a few years and become friends.  I looked up to him and valued Rich's opinions and help. I had the honor to introduce Victoria to Rich at our church.  Of course, that brought me great joy to watch your relationship grow.  Another time, Richard took my family in his boat and we whizzed through the river. I almost lost my hat.  We laughed and had a good time.  I also remember teasing him at work sometimes because I am a jokester, and he was always good natured. I liked him through and through.  He will be missed. More men should be like Richard Sumption. God bless and comfort you.
