Robert Bob "Bob" McCabe

Robert "Bob" Raymond McCabe, 84, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening at home in Chesapeake where he lived with his son and daughter-in-law. He was born in Syracuse, NY and is predeceased by his parents Michael and Jane Hayes McCabe of Waterville, NY. He is also predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara White McCabe. Bob graduated from Waterville High School where he was an outstanding athlete. He was a US Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. After the war he worked for the Department of the Navy Publishing and Printing Service and retired in 1988. He was recognized for his work ethic and ability to fix anything as well as his comradery and fun-loving nature. He is survived by his sons, Howard McCabe, Douglas McCabe and wife, Sherrie; daughter, Tracey Jensen and husband, Paul; sister, Betty Jane McCabe Paprocki; nieces, Karen Kunkel Moldt, Mary McCabe Bormann; grandchildren, Nichole Nichols and husband, Eric, Andrew Jensen, Cory Jensen, Christina Enesey, Kimberly Black and husband, Johnathan; great-grandchildren, Carson Nichols and Hannah Lewis. There will be a visitation from 6-8pm, Sunday at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service at Rosewood Memorial Park at a later date.
