Mrs. Harding was born in Rescue, Virginia on September 27, 1926. She graduated from Smithfield High School where she loved sports and played basketball. She retired as a vice president of an industrial supply company after many years of service and was a former member of Carrow Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Pearl Ida Gay and George T. Gay and her husband Alex Harding. She was devoted to her family and her grandchildren, whom were the lights of her life, known to all as Nana.
Survivors include her loving daughter Susan H. Lehr and her husband Steve, three grandchildren, Jay, Jason and Tiffany Pierce; a beloved brother George Gay Jr., and his wife Charlotte and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed terribly but we have the peace of mind knowing she is with her Lord Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home followed by a celebration of Mrs. Harding's life at 11:00a.m. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Friends may offer condolences at www.kellumfuneralhome.com
