Shirley Spruill Mabalot

Shirley Spruill Mabalot, 86, of Norfolk, VA, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024 with her sons by her side. She was preceded by her parents, Hayden and Janie Spruill; sister, Imogen Adcock; and husband of 52 years Benedicto Mabalot.

Shirley is survived and cherished by her two sons, Benjamin and wife Julie, and Mark and wife Gia; two sisters, Joyce and Odell; grandchildren, Jacki, Matthew, Rebecca, Alex, Hayden, McKenzie, and Kayla; great grandchildren, Austin, Maverick, Adelee, Finn, Rylee, Jackson, Connor, and Alayna.

Shirley retired after 30 years of service with AT&T and had equally as many years to spend with family and friends during retirement. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother that will be solely missed. Shirley was always known as “Grammy” to her grandchildren and deeply loved by all of them.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the funeral home with entombment to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
