Thomas William Akers, 71, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He was born in Bluefield, WV to the late Edward and Virginia Akers. Tom was a mechanic and worked for Hanks Auto Shop for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and fixing things; he was a true handyman. Tom was a thoughtful, strong-willed man who kept to himself. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara E. Akers; and sister Fran Akers.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Thomas Corey Akers (Portia), and Shawn William Akers (Kim); and 8 grandchildren, Leif, Triniti, Madelen, Cole, Abigail, Gage, Chase, and Arianna.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 17, 2021, in Rosewood Memorial Park.
