Mr. Hilliard was born on August 26, 1920 in Norfolk, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hilliard. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Lynnhaven Moose Lodge 1198 and attended St. John’s Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons, Tommy and wife, Marie of Virginia Beach, VA; Doc and wife, Patsy of Gloucester Pt., VA; George and wife, Annie of Virginia Beach, VA; Billy and wife, Mary of Windsor, VA; John and wife, Carol Lee of Virginia Beach, VA; Mike and wife, Ruby of Suffolk, VA; two daughters, Pat Sanders and husband, Sandy of Virginia Beach, VA; Joan White of Chesapeake, VA; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, where a celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. by The Rev. Bob Pipkin. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
