Mr. Gibson was born and raised in the Portlock section of Chesapeake and resided in Virginia Beach since 1985. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard Livingston Gibson and Myrtle Chillson Gibson. He served as a First Mate in the Tug Boat Industry for many years and was a member of Rosemont Christian Church.
Survivors include his loving wife Emma "Connie" D. Gibson, four children Deanna R. Gibson, Ronnie Clouse, Dawn Roberson and Niki Hall, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, a sister Sarah Nell Holland and a niece Jane Davis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, 2:30 p.m. at Rosemont Christian Church by The Rev. Jerry Kilyk. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the church.
