Willie Carroll Stamper

Willie Carroll Stamper, 85, passed away on August 12, 2021. He was born in Ashe County, NC to the late Manley and Hassie Stamper. Willie served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and Vietnam and retired after 20 years. He also worked on tug boats for 23 years at NOB, Norfolk and worked for another 16 years at Cahoon Plantation Golf Course. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing golf. Willie was an independent, hardworking man who was dedicated to his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 25 years, Alice Barefoot Stamper; sons, Willie C. Stamper, Jr (Cecilia) and James A. Stamper; daughters, Mary S. Beale (Alan) and Donna G. White (Thomas); step-sons, Jerry M. Hallal (Cathy), John M. Gordon, Bill Disney (Patricia), David Disney (Katie), and Walter Disney (Patricia); step-daughters, Barbara A. Temple, Nancy J. Shelburn, and Susan Rutsch (Wayne); siblings, Fran Bradey, Beatrice Miller, Sarah Lutts (Al), Wilma Blevins (Larry), Linda Norris, and Burl Stamper; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. You may offer condolences at www.kellumfuneralhomcom.
