He was born in Los Angeles, California. “Woody”, as he was known to those close to him, joined the US Navy in June 1955 at the age of 17 and made a career of it, retiring in July 1977. He later worked at QED Systems as a System Administrator and retired after 25 years of service.
Woody married Sata Oki Daniels in Tokyo, Japan on January 18, 1965 to whom he was married for 46 years until her death in December 2011. In his last five years of life, he was assisted by Patricia Vann. She kept him active as long as possible providing excellent care, companionship, and friendship. Pat Bullock served as his POA and made sure he didn’t need to concern himself with business or tax matters. In his younger days he enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing golf and fishing. As his health limited his activities, he could be found keeping current by watching CNN, faithfully watching Formula One racing, following the Green Bay Packers and tournaments in which Tiger Woods played. Mr. Daniels enjoyed history and outings to Yorktown Battlefield.
Special thanks to Patricia and Pat and the caregivers who enriched his life during the last year of his life: Cynthia, Angie, Virginia, Georgie and Paul who helped with transporting him to appointments.
A graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park, Friday, May 13, 2022 at 3:00pm with Pastor James A. Thompson, officiant.
