Born in Providence, RI, Albert was the cherished son of Albert Baribault (Ret. PPD) and Dorothy (Creamer) Baribault. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Rogers) Baribault, with whom he shared an extraordinary 73 years of marriage.
The eldest of ten children, Albert embraced responsibility early and carried it with grace throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, beginning a lifelong commitment to public service. After returning home, he embarked on a 24-year career with the Providence Fire Department. Following his retirement from the PFD, Albert continued to serve his community for another 14 years at the Community College of Rhode Island. His work ethic, integrity, and dedication earned him the respect of all who knew him.
In his youth, Albert was an accomplished amateur boxer, a passion that reflected his strength and discipline. He loved the outdoors and especially treasured the fresh air of New Hampshire. For many years, he took his family on camping adventures from Cape Cod to Canada and countless places in between. These trips created lifelong memories his family still cherishes today.
After his second retirement, Albert and his wife, Patt, enjoyed 18 wonderful years in Venice, Florida. Even after returning to Rhode Island in 2023, he credited Florida’s warm sunshine with extending his life. Despite facing numerous physical challenges in his later years, Albert remained courageous, resilient, and joyfully engaged in life. He played cribbage daily with his wife and spent many happy hours enjoying card games with his great grandchildren. He had a deep love for Irish music, especially that of Fintan Stanley. His elegant dancing was legendary among family and friends.
A devout Catholic, Albert prayed the rosary every day with his wife and found a welcoming parish wherever he lived. Most recently, he attended Mass at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Home, where he resided for the last six months. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and served honorably as Grand Knight.
Albert is survived by his loving wife, Patt, and their devoted children: Peter (Maryanne) Baribault, James Baribault, Gregory (Susan) Baribault, Jon (Debra) Baribault, and Dona LeBoeuf. He is also survived by his youngest sister, Diane Tucker, and his daughter in law Maureen Baribault, along with 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, all of whom adored him. He was predeceased by his son David Baribault, his son in law Reginald LeBoeuf, and his siblings William Baribault, Donald Baribault, Richard Baribault, Edward Baribault, Barbara Lancellotta, Patricia Fontaine, Shirley Harnois, and Janet Collins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, from 4:00–7:00 PM with his funeral on Thursday, July 9, at 8:45 AM at Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, RI.
