Born in Vergennes, Vermont, Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Ralph Delmer Wenzel and Mary (DeMello) Wenzel.
Carol attended Nursing School at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and was extremely proud of her career as an oncology nurse at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in NH.
She raised her children in Hartland, Vermont enjoyed volunteering with 4-H, baking, gardening and attending the First Congregational Church of Hartland. She loved sewing quilts and her famous potholders many of her friends were lucky to receive as gifts. She was gifted with the ability to make beautiful cakes for birthdays, showers, and weddings for those she loved. Taking her son on secret fishing trips, visiting with her daughter daily after school and camping trips to Hermit Island where she would search for sand dollars with her kids are among her favorite memories.
She moved to Wakefield, NH when her kids were grown and enjoyed volunteering for meals on wheels, golfing and many hours spent with her flowers and gardens. She moved to Rhode Island 5 years ago with her daughter and son-in-law Lonn, and spent her happiest years playing with grandkids, enjoying new adventures and a memorable trip to Montana. Her All American friends and family provided many years of fun: crafting, laughing, happy hours, dancing and more dancing - her absolute favorite thing to do!
A devoted mother, proud grandmother, and cherished friend, Carol will be remembered most for her unwavering love for her family, the warmth she brought to those around her and her apple pie and christmas cookies. Her sense of humor could turn any moment into a memory. Her humor was one of a kind and had a knack for making moments feel lighter.
She is survived by her loving children, Jessica Greenberg of East Greenwich RI and her partner Alex Read, and Paul Jarvis and his wife Lisa of Montana. Carol was the adored, “get on the floor and play with you” Gramie of Owen, Emmersyn, Aiden, Zoey, and Olivia. She also leaves behind her brother, Delmer Wenzel and his wife Rose of Vermont and her lifelong best friend of over 50 years Mary Ellen Bean (Beano), along with Beano’s husband, Tim Eberhardt.
