

He was born in Providence, the son of the late Charles H. Rugg, Sr. and Stacia (Golomboski) Rugg.
He served in the Army for three years post-war in Japan. He lived his entire adult life in Warwick. He worked for many years at Ciba-Geigy in Cranston reaching the level of plant superintendent. He later worked at the Trudeau Center in Warwick for ten years where he developed many friendships.
Charles enjoyed fishing, boating, and bowling. He was an avid gardener and had fond memories of spending summers at his uncle's farm while growing up. He was a positive and upbeat presence in everyone's life. He was a kind, generous husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He was the devoted father and father-in-law of Charles H. Rugg III and his wife Karen; Carolyn M. Rode; Christine M. Burns and her husband Brian; and Gary M. Rugg.
He was the cherished grandfather of Evan, Koryn, Andrew, Colin, Amanda, Julie and Lindsey. He also had three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings Edward Rugg; Robert Rugg; and Margaret Jasper.
His funeral services and burial will be private.
