Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William F. Connors and Marguerite M. (Mahoney) Connors. She is survived by her sister Patricia A. Wood (Connors) of Fairbanks, Alaska, her brother William J. Connors and devoted sister-in-law, Meredith M. Connors of Glocester, Rhode Island.
Eileen was married to the late Robert Rouleau. Eileen and Robert were active members of the Johnston Senior Center and enjoyed taking bus excursions to the beaches in Southern RI during the summer.
Eileen was a loving aunt to Bridget McMahon, Kaylan, Jesse, Lindsey and Scott Wood. She took delight in her grand nieces and nephews, Connor, Brody, Nola, Jace, Anniston, Weston, Wyatt, Waylon, and Cruz. She had deep affection for her cousins, Susan Beckman and Steven McCann. Eileen held a special place in her heart for Melanie, Ronnie, Isaac and Bella Johnson of Sarasota, Florida.
Eileen graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1974. She excelled at business and secretarial studies and was proud of her exceptional typing and shorthand skills. After graduating, she worked as a secretary at the Washington Insurance Company and the Hospital Trust National Bank. She later enjoyed staying active by volunteering at local hospitals.
Eileen was a lifelong Catholic of deep faith. She was a communicant at St. Teresa’s, St. Patrick’s and St. Rocco’s parishes, and enjoyed daily Mass and praying the Rosary, while a resident at St. Antoine’s.
Eileen has been often described as sweet, affectionate, loving, and possessing a childlike innocence. She was outgoing and loved to meet new people. She had a remarkable memory for names and events. Throughout her life, she enjoyed singing, dancing, socializing and good food.
By her example, Eileen taught us that life can be challenging, but there will always be opportunities to find moments of joy and to extend kindness to others. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
