

Frances A. Gallagher, age 86, of Warwick, RI, formerly of Oceanside, CA, and West Warwick, RI, passed away on November 10, 2025 at West Shore Health Center. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph E. Gallagher, who passed on July 30, 2025.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frank Costa and Nicolina (Luizzi) Costa. She graduated from Hope High School in 1957 and held various administrative assistant positions over many years.
She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, traveling, and spending time with family. She served as a Stephen Minister when a parishioner at Saints John and Paul Church in Coventry, RI, and as a Eucharistic Minister at Mission San Luis Rey Parish in Oceanside, CA.
In 2005, she and her husband moved to Oceanside, for a new chapter in their lives, enjoying many years of warm weather and gatherings with a new circle of wonderful friends with whom they remained connected. They returned to the East coast in 2022 to be closer to family.
She is survived by three daughters Kathleen Cattell (Edward) of WV, Michele Gallagher of Warwick, and Julie Sparks (Brian) of CT, four grandchildren, Stephanie Baker (Matthew), Andrew Sparks (Maureen), Corey Kerneen, and Emily Sparks (Stephanie), and four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Penelope, Berkley, and Calliope. She is also survived by her brother Richard Costa, Sr. and Sandra Emsley both of California.
A Mass of Christian burial for both Frances and Joseph will be held on Saturday, November 22, at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Providence, followed by burial at Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Meeting Street School or a charity of your choice.
