

Jim was born September 24, 1962 in Providence RI to the late Matthew and Barbara (Grogan) Maguire and grew up in Cranston.
Jim graduated from Our Lady of Providence High School in 1980. He was a member of the Pawtuxet Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years before enlisting in the US Marine Corps (1982-1988) where he worked as a firefighter/crash crew.
After being honorably discharged from the Marines, Jim lived and worked as a firefighter in several places, including, Beaufort, SC, Corpus Christi, TX, and North Fort Myers, FL. Upon retirement he relocated with his companion, Carol Silva, to Fall River, MA. He lived the final years of his short life at the Elmhurst Rehabilitation Center in Providence. Jim loved being a Marine and a firefighter, dedicating his life to his fellow man and his country.
Jim is survived by two sons JJ and Kyle, a granddaughter, Bailey Maguire, along with five siblings: Mike and his wife, Mary Ellen of Vero Beach, FL, Kim Isherwood and her husband Pat of Cape Coral, FL, Bill and his wife Audrey of Norwood, MA, Ed and his wife Amy of Indianapolis IN, Pat and his wife Lynn of Coventry, RI. He also leaves his Aunt Margie and Uncle Henry Plouffe of Warwick, RI, and Aunt Joan Capwell of Coventry, RI. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation Friday, November 17, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
