He was a graduate of North Providence High School and worked as an automotive mechanic, but will be remembered best for keeping his family and friends entertained with his impressions, musicianship, and comedy routines.
Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late James G. and Ann (Oliva) Sylvia. Jimmy was the loving brother of Margaret Sylvia of Hope, Kathleen Currier of Warwick, and Dorothy Soucy of Cranston.
He was the proud uncle of James Masso (Amy), Kristin Gothier (Brent), Kaitlin Bird (Jeffrey), Jessica Larson (Casey), and Ann Gardner (Joseph). He loved his grandnephews, Grayson Masso, Nathan, Connor, and William Gothier and his grandniece, Eleanor Gothier.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, September 15th at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate
