Born in Providence, RI, Mike was the cherished son of the late George E. Clements, Jr., and Marilyn A. (Finnell) Clements. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Dempster) Clements, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.
After graduating from college, Michael joined the Warwick Police Department where he served as an officer for 20 years. After retirement from the force in 2000, he worked various security jobs across the state to keep himself busy.
In his younger years, Mike lived an active lifestyle. He loved running, lifting weights, and spending time outdoors. Some of his happiest memories were hiking in New Hampshire with his sons; a tradition they now carry forward with their own families.
A lifelong learner, Mike was an avid reader with an impressive library of history and non-fiction. His sharp mind, quick wit, and keen eye for detail left an impression on everyone he met. He will especially be remembered for his irreverent sense of humor.
Above all, Mike was a family man. He adored his sons and grandsons, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent together.
Along with his wife, Kathy, Mike is survived by his loving sons: Christopher Clements and his wife, Meagan; and Thomas Clements and his fiancée, Chelsea Field. He also leaves behind his treasured grandsons, Ronan and Finn Clements. He will be missed by his brothers, Robert S. Clements, PPD, Ret., and his wife Sharon, and William E. Clements, U.S. Army, Ret., and his wife Eva. He was predeceased by his brother, George E. Clements, III, and his sister, Marilyn (Clements) Aguiar.
Friends and family are invited to his visitation on Saturday, October 3, from 2:00–5:00 PM at the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, RI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Michael’s name to HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care by visiting: https://www.hopehealthco.org/ways-to-give/donatenow/
