Born in Woonsocket, RI, Paul was the cherished son of the late Roland and Phyllis (Renaud) Proulx. He was the beloved husband of Christine M. White Proulx.
Paul built a long and respected career in the jewelry industry, serving as the plant manager at American Ring in East Providence before his retirement in 2024. Known for his steady leadership, kindness, and reliability, he formed close relationships with colleagues that lasted well beyond his retirement; a reflection of his genuinely likeable nature.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Paul especially loved the New England Patriots. Holding season tickets for many years, he treasured the memories of attending games with his father. He was also an animal lover, deeply devoted to his loyal canine companions over the years, Mandy and Molly.
Although Paul had no children of his own, family was at the heart of his life. He cherished holidays spent with his sister and nephews and delighted in watching the family grow to include his great nieces and great nephew. One of his happiest recent moments was finding the strength to attend his great niece’s wedding in April, where he spent the evening dancing and celebrating with the people he loved most. Paul will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his warm smile, and the way he could brighten any room he entered.
Paul is survived by his devoted sister, Janet Gervais, and her husband Raymond; his nephews Raymond Gervais II (Lisa) and Peter Gervais (Amy); and his beloved great nieces and great nephew: Hayley, Ellie, Tori, Kendall, and Nathan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 360 Cowesett Rd, Warwick, RI 02886, with burial to follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
