

He was the beloved husband of Beverly A. DiLorenzo-Cusick McKay. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Peter E. McKay Sr. and the late Marian (Roberts) McKay. He resided in Coventry and Cranston, Rhode Island, before relocating to Florida in 1993.
Mr. McKay proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1963, attached to the 50th Fighter Bomber Wing. He was stationed at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany, where he was assigned to the Hospital Motor Pool, and at Elmendorf Air Force Base with the Alaskan Air Command.
He was a member of American Legion Post 53 in Sanford, Florida; a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8093 in DeBary, Florida, where he served on the Honor Guard for several years; and a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, Central Florida Chapter 153. He also served as Sergeant-at-Arms for the Department of Florida Korean War Veterans Association in 2001 and 2002.
He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed reading and woodworking.
He was the brother of the late Earl McKay, St. Petersburg, Florida; the late Robert McKay, Providence, RI; the late Fred McKay, Coventry, RI; Gene McKay, Village Mills, Texas; the late Geraldine McKay, Lakeland, Florida; Brian McKay, Chepachet, RI; Dennis McKay, Polk City, Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Monday, September 21, 2026 at 12:00 pm in the Columbarium Chapel in the RI Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
