Kathleen W. Haggerty

Kathy was born on February 10, 1953 in Woodside, NY to the late William & Clara Ward. She graduated from Saint Vincent Ferrer High School and went on to get her nursing degree from Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing. She dedicated her 50+ year nursing career at Lenox Hill Hospital, followed by becoming a school nurse while she raised her family. She finished her career at the Rockland County Pediatric Psychiatric Hospital which she found particularly rewarding until retirement.

On May 22, 2012 Kathy married the love of her life, Arthur Haggerty, who she knew as a child growing up in Boulevard Gardens in Woodside, Queens. Together they built a life perfectly combining their 2 families.

Kathy was the most dedicated mom - never missing a swim meet, school event, or a chance to remind her children how proud she was of them and how much they were loved.

She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Arthur; her son, Christopher (Jocelyn); her daughter, Emily (Michael); and her stepchildren, Jaime, Jackie, and Danny (Abbey); and the light of her life - her grandchildren, Jackson, Cole, Reagan, Riley, Dylan, and Kyle. She was preceded in death by her parents and her bonus children, Kellie and Kate.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 4-8pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home in Washingtonville, NY. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 10am at St. Mary's Church in Washingtonville, NY.

Kathy will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever cherished.
