On March 18, 2016, Ms. Mary K. Watts died peacefully of natural causes at her daughter’s home in Washingtonville, New York. She was surrounded by family and supported by many compassionate professionals in the health care community. Democratic and independent in spirit, Ms. Watts was a member of New York State and Local Retirement System. She was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed Monday morning quarterbacking with her sons-in-law and grandchildren at family gatherings. She owned a moped. An avid Continental traveler and student of the social studies, Ms. Watts treasured seeing the beauty of this country’s east and west coastlines, Arizona’s Grand Canyon, Alaska’s fjords, and Nevada’s desert. She was also touched by the charm of our nation’s southern hospitality in her visitations to Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, and the Carolinas. A lover of the arts and humanities, Ms. Watts was an accomplished reader of Western Literature and the classics. She was an ever-aspiring musician and painter who enjoyed musicales, the opera and ballet, and museum exhibitions. Ms. Mary K. Watts was the wife of the late Mr. Raymond K. Watts of Monroe, New York. A devoted mother who is loved and who will be missed, she lives on in their six children, ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The Watts family thanks all those who have contributed to the beauty of our mother’s life and passing. Friends are invited by the family to celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, Washingtonville, New York.
