Winslow-- Margaret “Maggie” Languet, 74, passed away in her home with her family by her side on May 20th, 2010. Maggie was born in Waterville on February 3rd, 1936, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Peter Paul) Noel.
Maggie graduated from Clinton High School in 1953 and completed her nursing education at the New Hampshire State Hospital and Maine Medical Center in 1956. Maggie married Gerald “Jerry” Languet in 1957 and had 8 children.
During her nursing career, Maggie worked as a charge nurse at Thayer hospital for many years and at Lakewood Manor. With her warmth, kindness and compassion, Maggie touched many lives.
Maggie’s favorite pastimes were quilting, spending time at camp and the beach, attending the band concerts and sporting events of her grandchildren, coffee time while watching the Ellen show, and family gatherings. Maggie’s favorite things about life were: black eyed susans, puppies, kittens, country music, and the warmth of a sunny day. Her biggest loves were family and friends.
Maggie was predeceased by her parents. She will be sadly missed by her sister, Mary Mixon; the father of her children, Jerry; her children: Greg Languet, Gary Languet and his wife, Debra, Melanie Ellis and her husband, Herman, Dolores Douin, Denise Paulette and her husband, Paul, Pete Languet and his wife, Patricia, Cindy Languet, Jay Languet and his wife, Aimee; 14 grandchildren: Eric Languet and his fiancé, Tabitha Soto, Ben Ellis, Erica (Paulette) Coutts and her husband, Scott, Nicole (Ellis) Fletcher and her husband, David, Casey Douin, Jim Paulette, Alaina Stinson, Sara (Douin) Brown and her husband, Jim, Nick Stinson, Venessa Languet, Gabrielle Languet, Isabelle Languet, Noelle Languet, Keith Languet, Kyle Languet; and 6 great-grand children: Logan, Dylan, Brooklyn, Ava, Holly, and Erin. Maggie will also be missed by special friends, Trena and Carl Cilley, Jane Parsons, and Louise Doolan. The family would like to extend special thanks to the hospice staff that came to know Maggie as well as Sandy Myers, Cindy Rumsey, Jan Bell, and Gwendolyn Nale for their support.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 6-8pm at Veilleux Funeral Home. A mass celebrating Maggie’s life will be held Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Waterville Area Humane Society, 100 Webb Rd, Waterville, ME 04901.
