Cindy Lou Brower

She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Adeline Alflen; father-in-law, Kyle Brower; and granddaughter, Megan Modreske. Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary Brower; son, Mathew Brower; son, Robbie (Kerrie) Brower; daughter, Jamie (Justin) Cox; and her cherished grandchildren Tylor and (Eryn) Stancell, Gage and (Ciera) Stancell, Carter Modreske, Brandon Brower, Lauren Modreske, Carly Cox; great-grandchildren Cole, Madelynn, Skylar, and Payton Stancell. She is survived by her brothers Gerry (Judy) Alflen, Randy Alflen; mother-in-law, Marilyn Brower; brothers-in-law Kelly (Jennifer) Brower and Terry (Kim) Brower; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cindy met her husband Gary at a young age in high school and never looked back. They were married for 53 years. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three kids. During her life, she worked many jobs. She worked at Harding’s in Wayland for many years and made many friends there along the way. During her retirement, she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, going to their sport/school events, and of course she loved to find the deals while shopping.

Mom was the heart of our family. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, welcomed, and safe. Her greatest joy was her family, and she gave endlessly of herself to make sure the people she loved were cared for and never felt alone. She was a beautiful soul with a generous heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a love that will never be forgotten. Her hugs, laughter, advice and all the little things she did every day will forever live in our memories.

Although our hearts are broken by her absence, we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to have with her. Her love will continue through her children, grandchildren, and friends. Her memory will remain in our hearts forever. She was our home, our comfort, and one of the greatest blessings of our lives. We will miss her more than words can express.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Wayland VFW (735 S. Main St., Wayland).
