Erma loved to travel, driving to many different states and spontaneous vacations. She loved dancing and pow-wows, sewing, and especially time spent with family and friends.
Erma leaves behind her children Mark (Dawn) Bixler, Cathy Bixler, David Sinclair Jr., Grace (Ashton) Thompson, Edna Shriner, Judy (Henry) Robinson, Roberta (Chelo) Shriner; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way; and sister, Marian (Tom) Jarman.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Grace Peters; siblings Elmer Peters Jr., Dale Peters, Gerald Peters, Alma Peters, and two others; and second husband and friend, Robert Shriner.
A funeral service for Erma will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Wayland Chapel), 312 N. Main St., Wayland, MI 49348, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Erma will be laid to rest at Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery. In memory of Erma and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.kubiakcookwayland.com in Erma’s online guestbook.
