Ethel Louise Howell, age 86, passed away in Wayland, MI on Friday, May 1, 2026. Ethel loved many things, including shopping, and especially spending time with her family. She was a great mom, always keeping a warm and welcoming home for her family. Ethel deeply loved and cherished her children and grandchildren, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Ethel is survived by her children Stephen (Brenda) Howell, Michelle (RC) Fox; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings Harold (Jane) Arney, Maron Bigler, Kurt (Sharon) Arney, Carol (Dan) Marler and many extended family and friends.
Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Howell; daughters, Lori Howell, Schaorie (Gordie) Meredith; parents Aura and Letha Arney and brother, Roy Arney.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Ethel will be laid to rest privately by the family at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland, MI. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.kubiakcookwayland.com in Ethel’s online guest book.
