

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Rick (Debra) Buist, Cheryl (Ron) Osentoski; grandchildren Miranda (Anthony) Harshberger, James (Andrea) Buist, Alexander (Anna) Buist, Taylor Osentoski, Sydney (Nate) Kooiker; great-grandchildren Jaeden (fiancé, Nathan Hondorp), Keegan, Peyton, Lincoln, Greyson, Brooklyn, Cecilia, Briella, Cameron; brother, John (Yvonne) Klinge; sisters-in-law Marge (Ron) Cook, Mary (Ken) Visser; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Everdene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family, church, and community. Everdene was known for her welcoming smile, kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. She was an active member of Wayland Christian Reformed Church, serving in various roles. Her passion for music was evident as she participated in the church choir and encouraged her family to appreciate gospel music.
A lifelong educator, Everdene taught at Wayland Union Schools, touching the lives of many students through her special reading program. She formed lasting bonds with her students and was remembered for her compassion and dedication.
Visitation with Everdene’s family and friends will be held 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home - Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main Street, Wayland, Michigan 49348. Funeral services for Everdene will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at Wayland Christian Reformed Church, 303 E. Elm Street, Wayland, Michigan 49348.
