Karen S. Ballard
June 12, 1956 – August 23, 2022

Karen S. Ballard, age 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, August 23, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Wayne and Loretta Flora; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Kent Sweet; and niece, Rebecca Sweet.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Doug Ballard; children Steve (Alicia) Ballard, Jeff Ballard; grandchildren Lincoln and Emerson Ballard; sister, Janice (Tom) Vandenberg; many brothers- and sisters-in-law; and nieces, nephews, and friends.
Karen made many lifelong friends while working at Byron Center State Bank for over 35 years. For several years, she and Doug enjoyed special vacations with her sister, Donna. Karen especially enjoyed gardening, and reading to and spending time with her grandsons, Lincoln and Emerson.
Visitation with Karen’s family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St., Wayland, MI 49348. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 with one hour of visitation prior at Moline Baptist Church, 4428 Chappell St., Moline, MI 49335. Luncheon to follow the funeral services at the church. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
