Laurie was very proud of her native culture, having descended from Ottawa and Potawatomi tribes. She was also a proud member of the Gun Lake Tribe. Laurie is survived by her siblings and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Robert L. Hinmon and Raymond A. Brand; and daughter, Rose Hinmon.
Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home (Wayland Chapel), 312 North Main Street, Wayland, MI 49348. A funeral service celebrating Laurie’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, with visitation one hour prior, at Luella Collins Community Center, 419 126th Ave., Shelbyville, MI 49344. Interment will be at Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery. c
