

Lois Ann Whittredge, age 92, passed into the hands of the Lord Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She was born to Roy and Maggie (Landrum) White August 6, 1933. Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Whittredge; parents; and sister, Isabel White. She is survived by her cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lois worked at the Wayland State Bank until obtaining a job in 1958 (working over 33 years) with The Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo, MI. She came into the company at an entry level position as mail girl and shortly was promoted to clerk/typist. After graduating from Kellogg Community College with a secretarial certificate, she was promoted to secretary, then administrative secretary, then sr. executive secretary where she worked for the VP of marketing. After securing an associate degree with honors from Kalamazoo Community College she transferred credits to Western Michigan University, where she attended but never got her degree. In 1986, she was promoted to a professional rating with conventions and exhibits department as a conventions and exhibits specialist until she retired in 1991. Lois finished and accomplished her “impossible dream” by running in the 1980 Boston Marathon. After retiring, she was a partner with husband, Bill, in their propane systems and operations business. She was involved in teaching propane safety until 2004 when they closed the business. Bill and Lois traveled extensively in the United States and worldwide. They belonged to the elite Travcoa Seven Continent Travel Club. In 2005, the couple moved to Las Cruces, NM where they lived until they moved back to Wayland.
A celebration of Lois’ Life will commence 11 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, with visitation one hour prior, at Kubik-Cook Funeral Home, 312 North Main Street, Wayland, MI 49348.
