Mary Morgenstern, age 85, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, October 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Alice Sheldon; husband, William Edward Morgenstern Sr.; sons William Edward Jr., Thomas Lee Morgenstern; sisters Joan Sheldon, Audrey Sipkema, Sue DeBakey; brother, Robert Sheldon. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Russ (Julie) Morgenstern; seven grandchildren; siblings Pat (Blaine) Fowler, Jane Sheldon; daughters-in-law Marilyn and Jan Morgenstern; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mary Lou married her Wayland High School sweetheart, William E. Morgenstern, and had three sons. Being a military family, they lived in Tennessee, Illinois, and retired in Michigan at Payne Lake. Mary Lou was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend to all who knew her. We will remember her love of cooking, traveling, and fishing with family and friends. We fondly remember all the times spent enjoying the Michigan outdoors - especially those times at Payne Lake.

Visitation with the family will be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main, Wayland. Graveside service will follow the visitation at Elmwood Cemetery.

In honor of Mary, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Veteran’s Association, or Randy Brown Ministries. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.kubiakcookwayland.com.

Mary Lou was my neighbor for many years. She was always cooking, taking care of everyone, even feeding the neighborhood dogs and cats. She was a very caring woman who loved her family very much. We've missed her a lot these last few years. She has left a legacy of loving and an example of how to be a caring human being.
