Not being from Wayland, I only knew Mr Marutz briefly but I recall his teaching philosophy in the one class I had with him “Ask your question, voice you concern or opinion and we will find the answer or solution.” That is what I think made him a friend - more than just a teacher.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in these times.

Dear Cousin Pam and family,

Your dear father Bob was so fun and loving when he and your mother Nancy would visit my parents, Nancy's cousin, in Texas.

We are so blessed that they would take a side trip in route to your house to see us and we really appreciate those special visits.

We remember fondly your parents who are now reunited in heaven. May the memories of their wonderful journey together be in your hearts each and every day as you begin a new journey without their physical presence but always in your heart.

Much love, cousin Jeanne Clifford Weiss, Woodinville, WA

Amy and I send our thoughts and prayers to Lynn snd the family. Many great memories of Mr Marutz while attending junior high. Always very fair and would put people at ease. He remembered students he worked with even when they became adults. God grant him eternal peace.

I have fond memories of Mr. Marutz. I thought he made biology fun and interesting. I also remember him being scary when I had to report to him with problems when he was in "VP" office. He always put me at ease and made everything okay. May his family's hearts be healed knowing he is with our Lord.

Mr. Marutz was a great Biology teacher, always had time for his students and truly cared. He set my love for science and the foundation I needed for all the years of Biology, Physiology, Immunology, Microbiology and more.
May the many memories and blessings be with the family.

Last time we saw Mr. Marutz was at the Wayland Hotel having dinner with his family and they were all smiles. We stopped and said hello on our way out and he actually knew who we were. He was a great teacher, no monkey business allowed and we respected him. Our sympathy and prayers for his family. He was a good man.

An example of a life well lived. As a teacher, coach, and Assistant Principal, Mr. Marutz had an impact on many students over the years.

Mr Marutz, was such a wonderful person he was a friend to me and really helped me as a teenager, always took time to talk and let me hang out when I needed to, I believe he helped to keep me out of some of troubles I could have been in, and don’t think I would have finished school if it wasn’t for him. Mr and Mrs Marutz was alway always kind to me I would run into them all over, they both had hugs and wonderful kind word to say. My Prayers for the family he is one person who will never be forgotten,

Blessings Tracy

Lynne and I send out condolences to the Bob Marutz family. Bob was truly a friend and one of the most enjoyable people we have been honored to know. He and Nan lived life in the best possible way. We will never forget the annual back-to-school gatherings at their home on Harwood Lake. We have many happy memories about them and their family that will last a lifetime.

RIP Bob.

My thoughts and prayers with the family of Bob. He was my kid's Michigan grandfather and we have very special memories of him and Nan when they were in Texas. I know he was in a lot of pain in the recent years and now we can be glad he is in Heaven in no pain and with his dear wife, sister, parents, and the list goes on. I am very sad for the loss, but rejoice that he is in the arms of our Heavenly Father. When Bob took communion here in Texas and my husband was an elder giving the communion with his Texas accent, Bob would always say it sounded like he was saying deport in Peace and not depart. And then he would chuckle. And if you knew Bob, he did have a chuckle that would warm your heart. Well Bob, you deport in Peace and enjoy your Heavenly home. We will all see you again and for that I am very grateful. With love from Texas.
