Robert Veldkamp

Robert Veldkamp, age 65, of Wayland passed peacefully at his home on January 21, 2017 a beautiful sunny 65 degree day after a yearlong battle with cancer.  Bob was born June 18, 1951 in Grand Rapids, MI to Bert and Rose Veldkamp who preceded him in death.  Bob served his country in the Army during Vietnam.  He worked for Morrison Industrial Equipment Co. for 30 years.  Bob loved golfing, reading and Nascar races, along with watching football and baseball. 

He leaves behind: wife Suzanne; daughters Tara, Alysia Veldkamp and Tracy White; step daughters Lesley (James) Goodgasell, Kristin (Troy) Engel and Tracy Iciek; 10 granddaughters and 2 grandsons; brothers Ken (Jane) Veldkamp and Russ (Roxanne) Veldkamp; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins along with special caretaker Hospice Nurse Makenzi.

Visitation is being planned for 10am at the Kubiak-Cook Dorr Chapel 4330 18th St., Dorr, MI 49323 on Saturday, January 28, 2017 with memorial services starting at 11am.  Memorials are suggested to Grace Hospice, 3355 Eagle Park Dr, NE, Suite 102, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
