I met Roger only a few times, and those were for the purpose of "taking care of Larry."  He was a very generous man, taking time to manage Larry's affairs.  When I took on that "job" I realized how much Roger had done, and I can appreciate it all.  Ellen and I often commiserated about both of them. I am truly sorry to hear of Mr. D's passing.   Tom, Tim, and Rick, I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.   I have had some great memories growing up and frequenting the Dunkle estate.  Mr. D seemed to know everyone and always had something interesting to say.   He was passionate about seeing his sons succeed in sports and life and put on lots of miles to make every ball game!  He will undoubtedly be missed. I am so sad to hear of Roger's passing. I have known him since his days at Egypt valley and have golfed with him the last few years at Candlestone and Bowen lake. It will not be the same out there without his competitive spirit and witt. Roger was a big man with a big heart. I will miss him dearly. Roger was my friend. But more than that,  he was my counselor, business advisor, and hand to guide me through obstacles! I've been friends with his sons all of my life, but didn't interact with Rog until about 10 yrs ago when he extended his quality to me by taking a chance and selling me my house on a land contract. No bank in the world would have given me this opportunity. He trusted me. That meant more to me than anything in the world! I was a wild youth and hadn't earned much trust or respect from my many foibles, and Rog didn't let that affect how he accepted me. Through his solid direction, and willingness to help me through the hard times, my life will forever be changed for the better. I'll miss him for his straightforward way of lending advice. I'll miss his humor. But most of all I'll miss the feeling of being trusted and respected by such a wonderful,  positive pillar of humanity! I love you Rog! Lots of great memories of Roger and hanging out at the Dunkle household growing up.  I always appreciated Roger's quick wit and competetive spirit.  Roger was a great father to his boys growing up and a postitive influence for all of the neighborhood kids growing up.  Although, I only saw him infrequently the past few years I enjoyed chatting with him each and every time.  A great human being who will be missed dearly. My heart is heavy but I am comforted that Uncle Rog had a peaceful passing.  I will remember him as a loving and gentle soul who deeply loved his family.  My best personal memory to share is when he walked me down the aisle.  Before he handed me off to my soon-to-be husband, he gave me a kiss and whispered "I am not giving you away, just sharing you". There was not a sweeter, or more generous person on earth than my Uncle Charge.  That's a nickname we all gave him when we were all so little. My mom worshipped her little brother. Although they lived hundreds of miles apart... they remained close.  My Uncle had a heart as big as the universe, and loved his whole family very deeply, and greatly!!!  I for one will miss his infectious smile and laugh.  To me, although I'm very sad that my dear Uncle is gone from this earth... It's peaceful knowing that he is in heaven with my mom, their parents, and other family members. Heaven has truly gained another angel.  I love you, Uncle Rodge.... and will miss you always!!!! What a great friend.  I golfed with him almost every day, and it was always a treat.  He took as much as he gave and it wasn't always pretty.  We had on on going bet, and in the end, I think it was even, although, he won the last two rounds.  Went to the Masters with him and toured his home town  and his Alma Mater on the way.  Also got to golf with him in Arizona, and almost convinced him to spend the winter there.  He was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him.
