Gary Lynn Scott age 69 of Waynesburg passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV.

He was born July 17, 1948 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Charles and Lillian Price Scott. He was a graduate of Waynesburg Central High School.

Mr. Scott was a retired coal miner for Humphrey Mine.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; and Marksman. Mr. Scott also served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 17 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Fuller of Waynesburg and Terri Madlock (Ryan) of Waynesburg; 5 grandchildren, Austin Fuller-Scott, Kaile Fuller, Makenzie Fuller, Zachary Madlock, and Tyler Madlock; one brother, Terry Scott of Waynesburg; sister, Sharon Matthews (Dave) of Stevens; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Deceased is a brother Thomas Scott.

Friends will be received 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 W. High St., Waynesburg where services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 with Rev. Richard Berkey officiating followed by interment in Rosemont Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 330, and the U. S. Army.
