June Elliott

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Elliott, and seven of her siblings. June was one of ten children, growing up with her four brothers and five sisters on a family farm in Greene County, where she spent her childhood.

June began her working years at a glass factory in Washington, Pennsylvania. She later worked alongside her family at the Waynesburg Muffler Shop and the Gray Manor Auction House.

After just two weeks of dating, June married the love of her life, Bob, on August 22, 1959, in Winchester, Virginia. Together they built a life in Waynesburg, where they lived for nearly 62 years.

She is survived by her daughters: Penny Buckhalter (Jay), Sheila Stewart (Ray), Sherri Jackson (Marvin), and Donna Elliott. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Christin Schlosser, Sarah Jenkins, JP Barger, Kaylie Barger, Rachel Abel, Amanda Cain, Catherine Jackson, Garrett Elliott, and Steven Elliott; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Chuck Cheek (Sandy) and Price Cheek (Sandy).

June found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was affectionally referred to as “Gram” by friends outside of her family. She worked diligently at home, whether through her well-loved laundry and cleaning routines, her willingness to take on any task, or her not to be duplicated spaghetti sauce. She was the ultimate caretaker for her beloved husband, Bob, during his last several years of life. June was a long-term member of Waynesburg Bible Chapel.

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:30 am in the Waynesburg Bible Chapel, 800 E. Greene St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Luke Payson.
